Juicy Beginnings
The Juicy Couture fashion house was launched in 1996 by Pamela Skaist-Levy and Gela Nash-Taylor. Following their ambition to create a playful, high-fashion line of casual and athletic wear, the two women completed a few designs and sent them out to a number of Los Angeles celebrities in hopes of getting the Juicy Couture name out to the public.
In a stroke of great luck, one of the outfits soon ended up in the hands of a certain pop-sensation and fashion-icon, who then decided she quite liked the Juicy Couture design. At this point, the future of Juicy Couture fashion lay in the hands of one of America’s foremost trendsetters and fashion authorities—Madonna.

It took one public appearance of Madonna wearing Juicy Couture’s now trademark, full-bodied, velour tracksuit to set off the tracksuit fashion phenomenon and skyrocket the Juicy Couture brand to the top of the ranks among the major players in the fashion industry.

Since then, Juicy Couture has experienced explosive growth, evolving and expanding on its upbeat and flirtatious fashion model to develop numerous lines of apparel for women, shoes, fragrance, sunglasses, eyeglasses, jewelry, handbags, swimsuits, underwear, and various other accessories.
